Solid pine wardrobe, with extra height and width.

The wardrobe below has been custom made completely from best quality solid pine and is extremely big. It stands at 7' 8" tall, 42" wide and is 24" deep. It has been made especially large with two internal hanging rails to provide the maximum storage space for a very tall man. The internal height of the wardrobe is about 7'5" giving plenty of room for hanging larger items.
The doors have been made from 32mm pine with 18mm recessed internal panels. They have been further adorned with large profiles running around the perimeter of the cabinet door panels. The doors are hung using four traditional cabinet hinges per door. The cornice can be varied to suit the style of the furniture items, here a decorative 'two-step' cornice has been chosen. The wardrobe stands on a simple overlaid plinth.
This wardrobe is unfinished in the picture below as the client wished to handpaint the wardrobe himself. This involves spot priming the knots, priming the entire wardrobe and then handpainting two coats of the finishing colour. We recommend Zinnser BIN primer and sealer when hand-painting as it is the industry leader for this purpose and is what we use ourselves. Handpainted finishes can be done to a very high standard using a nice eggshell or satin oil based paint.
